Easy Apple Dumpling Recipe
Core as many apples as may be required. Fill with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.
Make rich biscuit dough using the Bisquick on the box, only adding a little more shortening or butter.
Roll out a piece of the dough almost as thin as pie crust; then cut into square pieces large enough to cover an apple.
Put an apple filled with sugar and cinnamon into the middle of each square.
Turn the ends of the dough over the apple and lap them tight and place the apples in a baking dish.
Make a sauce with 2 Tbs of butter, 2 cups sugar, 4 cups water and 1 tsp of cinnamon.
Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Uncover for the last 10 minutes so that the dumplings will brown.

Vegetable oil spray

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly coat a baking sheet with vegetable oil spray. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a 12-inch circle. Melt the apple spread in the microwave (10 – 15 seconds on high). Brush the melted spread onto the pie crust with a pastry brush. Peel the apples if desired and chop them coarsely.
